I was recently charged with obstruction of justice do I need a lawyer?

DETAILS

My sister was being arrested and I felt that the police were using way to much force with her so I ran up and was yelling at them. We had both been drinking at the time. They brought us down to the station and there they found 2 pills on me (I told them I had NO clue what they were, and they later found out they were altoids.) I have never been in a situation like this before. I dont know if I need a lawyer and have no idea if i plead guilty how this will affect my record ect.

ANSWER

Yes it would be very wise to get a defense attorney to protect your rights, your record, and your future.

A criminal conviction can have very serious and lasting consequences. So the best time to protect your record is before you take any kind of plea.
